There has been a flurry of smoke over Afghanistan. Many observers, however, see this as a ploy in global politics. This is exactly what Afghanistan is now controlled by the Taliban. They are running everything like them. Pakistan, an old ally of the Taliban, is firmly on its side. China and Russia have joined hands as strong guns. And Saudi Arabia, a powerful state in the Middle East, has been allied with the Taliban from the beginning.

It can be said that a strong favorable situation is prevailing for the Taliban but the crisis is not going away. The Taliban have no problem with geopolitical dominance in Afghanistan. They are in control of everything in Afghanistan. So where is the problem? The country is going to face terrible financial and food problems. Humanitarian assistance continues in several countries, including the United States and the Middle East. But a country cannot continue to depend on outside humanitarian aid. The image crisis of the Taliban is responsible for this.

Aspiration to attend the session of the UN General Assembly

The Taliban's wish to attend the UN General Assembly session was not fulfilled. With the fall of Kabul on August 15, 2021, the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. By seizing power in the country, the Taliban set out to gain UN recognition. Mohammad Zabiullah Masood, the Taliban's deputy information minister, wrote a letter expressing interest in attending the 76th session of the just-concluded UN General Assembly. But without the participation of the Taliban, the 76th session of the UN General Assembly ended on September 28, 2021.

The Taliban's letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Golam Isakzai, a former UN-appointed permanent member of the Afghan government, had been removed. Suhail Shahin has been appointed as the new representative. The letter to the UN Secretary-General called for permission for Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki to attend the General Assembly. But the Taliban's appeal was not heard.

Conflicting policies of superpowers on Afghanistan

The superpowers are not abandoning Afghanistan or accepting it. This situation has complicated the whole environment. The image crisis of the Taliban is responsible for this. They have started enforcing Sharia law. It has brought back the practice of cutting off hands and beheadings for crimes. Not only the superpowers or the western countries but also Saudi Arabia has expressed concern over Afghanistan. In an interview with India Today on September 27, 2021, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal-bin Farhan-al-Saud said that the rise of al-Qaeda, IS and the Taliban in Afghanistan was a matter of real concern.

Neighboring states are apprehensive

Neighboring countries are apprehensive about the situation in Afghanistan. First, there is the risk of extremism spreading from Afghanistan. On the other hand, if there is a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, there is a danger that the burden of the crisis will fall on their shoulders. Every day, a large number of Afghans are taking refuge in neighboring countries through various border crossings. The situation has become so dire that Turkey is building a ten-foot-high concrete wall on its border. Because a large part of Afghan refugees is entering Turkey through neighboring Iran. But Turkey no longer agrees to bear the burden of refugees.

Will Afghanistan be stable at all?

The most difficult question about Afghanistan is whether it will be stable at all. Afghanistan's political environment has not been stable for a long time in the history of any period, ancient or modern. Afghans have a reputation as a mighty warrior nation. But as can be seen in all the twists and turns of history, he is overwhelmed by parasitic political ideas. The Afghans simply accepted the political ideology of the imperialist foreigners. As a result, Afghanistan has become a fertile ground for bloodshed and tragedy.
